…"Lead the way, Dion," she whispered, turning her focus away from the encroaching neighborhood—from the potential judging eyes—and entirely onto him. The smell of weed and cheap cologne was suddenly the most reassuring scent in the world. They slipped around the side of the house, using the dense smoke as a temporary, albeit hazardous, cloak, leaving Uncle Odie and Lina to conduct the most bizarre neighborhood concert the suburbs had ever experienced. If the police arrived, they would find two very confused, loudly accordion-grooving seniors covered in goo, and no sign of the couple who had caused the initial disturbance. It was the best plan they had.
