…"I am trying to save them," Marcus Leandros replied. "You are trying to panic them. That is not the same thing." As they led his father away, Leandros felt Issa's hand on his shoulder. "We have to go," she whispered. "Now. Before they find us." "We cannot leave him." "We cannot save him if we are prisoners too. We have to finish what he started." Leandros looked at her, and in her eyes he saw the same determination that had driven him through the past days. He nodded, and together they slipped through the hidden passage, into the darkness beneath the city, leaving behind everything they had known.
