The world tilted as I was roughly shoved forward. The flashlight beams danced erratically, blinding me. I heard Thorne’s voice, distant and distorted. “Take him. And make sure he doesn’t speak again.” My last conscious thought, before the darkness consumed me entirely, was of the tiny USB drive, a digital seed of truth hidden in my jacket, and the coded message I’d sent into the ether.
