To a place where the coffee is actually good, or somewhere with really, really big stars?” Shepherd, already initiating the pre-flight checks, offered her a wry smile. His plans had been meticulously laid, his calculations precise, his solitary journey meticulously mapped. But as he met her expectant gaze, a thrill, sharp and unexpected, coursed through him.
