…Emma Cross, the ambitious personal assistant who had dared to dig too deep, was no longer just a contender for a promotion. She was a reluctant hero, a survivor who had stared into the abyss and refused to blink. The promotion, the rivalry with Trevor, the carefully constructed ambitions of her former life – they all seemed like distant memories. A new path lay before her, uncertain and fraught with the weight of what she had seen and done. But as she looked at the rising sun, a quiet sense of purpose settled within her. The world had been saved, and Emma Cross, in her own unique, punk-rock way, had played a part in it. The fight was over, but the story, she knew, was just beginning.
