She looked at the untouched salad greens wilting in the crisper drawer, a forgotten casualty of her usual culinary spontaneity. A small, almost imperceptible smile touched her lips. This was the beginning. The beginning of something Lancy couldn’t quite comprehend yet, but something that felt undeniably, terrifyingly, and exhilaratingly, important.
