A path, treacherous and unknown, began to unfurl before me. It led away from the familiar darkness, towards a blinding light, and a reckoning. Melissa’s face swam before my eyes, her gentle smile a reminder of what I had lost, and what I now had to fight for. The rage within me coalesced, sharpening into a single, burning purpose. They had stolen everything. It was time to take it back. “Show me,” I said, my voice steady, the tremor of grief replaced by the tremor of an awakening storm. “Show me where to find them.”
