…“You think it’s… watching us right now?” Benji whispered, his hand brushing Alex’s arm. Alex glanced around, a shiver running down his spine. “I don’t know, Benji. But I think we just found out why everyone’s been so scared.” He looked at his own reflection in a shop window, a pale, anxious face staring back. For a fleeting moment, it didn’t feel entirely like his own. The thought was so unsettling, he quickly looked away. The town’s shadow had a name, and it was hungry. And Alex had a gnawing feeling that it had already started to notice them.
