…When she opened her eyes, her birthmark was glowing, a soft, starlight luminescence emanating from her skin. The air around her shimmered with an ethereal light, and the oppressive weight of the Guardian’s power seemed to recede, pushed back by an invisible force. The Guardian paused, its glowing eyes fixed on Elara, a flicker of what might have been surprise in their depths. The growl that had emanated from it earlier was replaced by a low, rumbling hum, as if it were acknowledging something it had not expected. Elara stood tall, no longer hiding, no longer afraid, her star-marked brow illuminated by the ancient magic that was now her own.
