…Nathan set his alarm for 6:15. Lying back, he pressed two fingers to his mouth. Held them there. Felt the echo of pressure and warmth and the faintest trace of Miles's taste—coffee and salt and something sweet he couldn't identify. Tomorrow, he would find Miles. Tomorrow, he would kiss him again. And then he would say yes. The alarm was set. The loop would reset. Nathan closed his eyes and held the kiss on his mouth like a lit match in a dark room—cupped around it, shielding it from the wind, keeping it alive for as long as he could before the morning took everything and he had to start the fire again.
