Tomorrow, he would chase this afternoon down and rebuild it from scratch, brick by brick, breath by breath, until the shape of it matched the shape of today. And then he would push further. Past the almost. Past the edge. Into whatever came next. His fingers stayed pressed to his neck. The alarm was set. The loop would reset. But tonight, for a few more hours, the taste of Miles's kiss was still on his mouth, and Nathan held it there—tongue behind teeth, breathing through his nose to preserve it—and waited for the day to end.
