…The whispers of doubt within me were being drowned out by the roar of collective strength. The war was ongoing, but tonight, we had won a crucial battle. The dawn of empowerment had truly arrived, and we, the people, were ready to embrace the light. The journey ahead would be arduous, fraught with peril, but as I stood there, surrounded by my people, I felt an unshakeable conviction: we were not poor. We were rich with potential, and we were finally beginning to reclaim our narrative, one harvest, one victory, at a time. The decolonisation of our minds had begun, and its fruits, like the yams and tomatoes before us, were destined to be abundant.
