…Boomslang gasped, stumbling back, her eyes wide with shock. Tonya didn't give her time to breathe. She followed up, a series of rapid strikes, each one finding its mark. A jab to the jaw, a knee to the gut, a brutal palm strike to the temple. Boomslang staggered, her movements becoming sluggish, her earlier grace replaced by a desperate, clumsy defense. Tonya saw the fear flicker in Boomslang’s eyes, a fleeting glimpse of the predator brought low. It was a look Tonya understood all too well. But there was no pity in her gaze, only the cold, hard resolve of a hunter.
