…As they reached the counter, Danti stole another glance at Chole. She was laughing at something Leo had said, her head thrown back, the sunlight catching the highlights in her hair. It was a moment of pure, unadulterated joy. And Danti, the shy, flustered boy who had just confessed his love in a public park, felt a tiny, brave spark ignite within him. Maybe, just maybe, his chaotic, embarrassing, confession cascade had actually been the best thing that could have happened. After all, he was here, he was talking to her, and there were sprinkles involved. The aftermath was, indeed, hilariously awkward, and surprisingly, wonderfully, promising.
