…Back in my room, I placed the two blue mittens on my desk. They snuggled together, a perfect pair once more. The socks in my drawer offered a chorus of relieved sighs and happy chatter. Life, I knew, would never be entirely ordinary again. And that was perfectly alright. In fact, it was rather wonderful. The ordinary places held extraordinary secrets, and even the most mundane objects, like a forgotten mitten or a peculiar old phone, could lead to the most magical adventures. The world was full of possibilities, and I, armed with my talking phone and my chatty socks, was ready for them all.
