…The phone in my hand gave a final, soft glow. "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. SOCK POPULATION STABLE. USER SATISFACTION HIGH." I looked down at the phone, then at my slightly rumpled clothes. This was a far cry from finding gold, but as I walked home, the weight of the phone in my hand felt oddly comforting. And I knew, with a certainty that surprised me, that my adventures with this magical, talking device, and its ever-growing collection of chatty footwear, were far from over. In fact, I had a sneaking suspicion my sock drawer was about to get a whole lot more interesting.
