…Elias watched Morwen, his mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. Fear, a lingering sense of bewilderment, and now, a nascent spark of determination. He was a demon, yes, but he was also Elias, the scholar. And he would use that mind, that intellect, to unravel the mysteries of this dark realm, to understand his purpose, and perhaps, just perhaps, to survive. He looked at his clawed hands, no longer with sheer horror, but with a growing sense of their potential. The Dark Realm was a brutal, unforgiving place, but he was no longer just a lost soul. He was a demon with a past, and a future that was, for the first time, beginning to take shape in the infernal gloom.
