…He rose from the chair, his movements fluid and predatory. “Lead the way, Sarai.” As he followed her into the darkened chambers behind her establishment, Bishop couldn't shake the image of Abbot Kale’s weary, regretful face. The Church was indeed a tangled web of corruption, and he, Bishop Dark, was the spider caught in the center, forced to fight his way out, one bloody thread at a time.
