The fifty million was gone, likely confiscated by the authorities or dispersed among those who’d helped him. Marcus Thorne would face justice, or at least the consequences of his greed. Danny Bird, however, was still in the shadows. He had made his choice, a dangerous, morally ambiguous dance between the man he was and the man he wanted to be.
