…Daniel studied her for a moment. "What is your name?" "Lira, Your Majesty. I work in the archives." "What do you know about this map, Lira?" She swallowed hard. "I was the one who found it. But I did not find it by accident. Someone left it there for me to find—and for you to see." Daniel's hand moved to the map in his pocket. "Who?" "I do not know," she said. "But they left a message as well. A single word, carved into the stone behind where the map was hidden." "What word?" Lira stepped closer and whispered, "Traitor."
