…He was still Karmaine Jones, the man who once feared the dark. But now, he was also something more. He was a protector. A defender. And he knew, with a certainty that resonated deep within his soul, that this was just the beginning. The shadows would return, he knew that. But he would be ready. He would be the D.A.D. – the Defender Against the Dark. And he would make sure that no child, not ever again, would have to face the monsters alone. He looked down at his son, a fierce, protective love swelling in his chest, a love that had just been given the power to fight back.
