…It’s a natural progression, I think, for the descendants to question the narratives passed down, to seek their own understanding. They are not bound by the same historical baggage as those further removed. They can feel the pulse of the land, the echoes of its past, and perhaps, in that connection, they find a different truth. A truth that acknowledges the necessary harshness, but also celebrates the unwavering love for his homeland and his family. I hope, with all my heart, that they see the man, not just the myth, and that the kindness I’ve always known finds its way into their understanding, a gentle echo across the centuries.
