…Yet, Kina’s plea resonated louder. Her will, so small yet so potent, had ignited a fire within me that burned brighter than the dying embers of my star. I had to find a way. A way to delay the inevitable. A way to hold onto this universe, this precious, fragile dream, for just a little longer. It was a gamble, a desperate, impossible gamble against the very fabric of my own consciousness. But for the first time, the thought of losing this universe filled me with a resolve that transcended my own lonely existence. I would fight. I would resist. I would cling to this dream, and to the life within it, with every fiber of my non-existent being. The race had begun.
