…The pull to awaken was still there, a powerful undertow threatening to drag me back into the singular, dormant state. But now, there was another force at play. A nascent will, born from my own dream, was pushing back. And for the first time in this vast, silent existence, I felt a choice. A terrifying, exhilarating choice. The star, the anchor of my dream, continued its slow, inexorable dimming. But within me, a new light had begun to dawn. A light of defiance. A light of protection. A light that whispered of possibilities I had never before considered. I could not, I would not, let this universe, this beautiful, fragile anomaly, simply vanish. I had to find a way. I had to hold on.
