For the first time in weeks, Kira felt something she had almost forgotten: peace. Tomorrow would bring new challenges. Diane Marlow was still out there. The trial would come. But tonight, she didn't have to face any of it alone. Josh's thumb traced small circles on the back of her hand. She leaned her head against his shoulder, breathing in the night air. The world felt open and possible, and for a moment, the fear was just a memory.
