…Liann’s choice, her pursuit of freedom, had undoubtedly ignited Taji’s destructive fury. But her mention of a ‘deeper descent,’ of a ‘next step’ that was dangerous, hinted at something more, something that went beyond Taji’s madness and her own transformation. It suggested that Liann, in her quest for liberation, might have inadvertently set in motion a chain of events, a darkness that even she, in her newfound power, could not fully control. And as I closed the final journal, a strange, unsettling satisfaction began to bloom within me, a dark curiosity about what that ‘next step’ might entail, and how it would reshape the fractured reality I was beginning to inhabit.
