Then, a slow smile spread across her face. “Georgie,” she whispered, her voice filled with wonder. “You did it. You actually… you actually did it.” The kitchen, no longer a war zone, felt like a sanctuary. The air, finally clear of smoke and despair, was filled with the sweet scent of success, and the undeniable aroma of the world’s greatest pizza. My eight-year quest, with all its explosions and experiments, its bouncing cheese and degreaser sauce, had finally, gloriously, arrived.
