…The journey ahead, toward Dr. Thorne’s uncertain sanctuary, would be fraught with peril. But the alternative, remaining trapped in a world that was rapidly becoming uninhabitable, was no longer an option. The sun would continue its relentless assault, the dark ocean would continue to swell, and the planet would continue its terrifying transformation.
