The weight of the challenge settled on his shoulders. He looked at Lyra, who was sharpening her knife with fierce concentration. She caught his gaze and gave him a small, determined nod. He wasn't alone. But the road ahead was dark, and the shadow inside him whispered of dangers yet unseen.
