…"We did well," Aaron said. Silas nodded. "But this is not the end. The shadow demons are leaderless, but they will regroup. Kael will not give up. And there are other threats, older ones, that have taken notice of what happened here." "I know." Aaron looked at the Heartstone, now resting in a shrine in the center of the village. "But for now, we have hope." As he spoke, a shadow flickered at the edge of his vision. He turned, but nothing was there. He felt a chill run down his spine. The shadow was still with him. And somewhere in the distance, a new figure watched from the treeline, their eyes glowing with an ancient light. The hook was set.
