…She rose on her toes and kissed him, soft and slow. "And I'm yours." When they broke apart, the green light flickered once, twice, then steadied again. "Tomorrow," she said, her voice firm. "Tomorrow," he echoed. And in the quiet of the evening, with the bond in her chest pulsing like a second heartbeat, Elara felt a new resolve settle over her. The Keeper was gone, but its shadow remained. And she would chase it to the ends of the earth if she had to. The light flickered one last time, and for a moment, it seemed to take the shape of a hand, reaching out. Elara's breath caught. It wasn't just the corruption. Something was waiting for her in that light.
