Maren brought a satchel of herbs and stones. They were a strange family, Elara thought. A hybrid, a witch, a vampire, a werewolf, a former vessel, a lost boy, and two women carrying the weight of ancient secrets. But they were hers. And she would not let the Keeper take them. “Let’s go,” she said, and led the way toward the old mill.
