…Elara looked at the falls, at the silver water cascading into the basin. The pulse inside her was steady now, and it felt like home. "What happens next?" she asked. "You rest," Silas said. "Then you prepare. The full moon will rise again, and Thorne will return. But now you have us." Elara nodded. She leaned into Lyra, who wrapped an arm around her. The council wizards began to murmur, their voices low and serious. Kael held his sister close. And above them, the moon hung like an unblinking eye, patient and watchful.
