…He looked out of the chamber, towards the world above, where the elders plotted and the ancient hatred festered. “We have a long road ahead, vampire.” Lyra stood a little straighter, a spark of determination igniting within her. “And we will walk it together, werewolf.” The air in the chamber, though still thick with the scent of ages, now carried a different kind of weight – the nascent promise of a fragile alliance, forged in the crucible of shared knowledge and the looming shadow of a forgotten foe. The echoes of betrayal had led them here, to the precipice of a truth that could either shatter their worlds or, perhaps, begin to mend them.
