…Taking a deep, spectral breath, I willed myself forward. Towards the darkness. Towards the heart of the Black Woods, both in life and in death. The little girl’s shadow, a faint beacon in the gloom, led the way. The growls followed, a relentless pursuit. I was no longer just a victim; I was a seeker, venturing into the abyss, hoping to find answers before the darkness consumed me entirely. The final breath of my mortal life had led me here, to the beginning of something far more terrifying, and perhaps, far more profound.
