…I stood at the threshold of the spectral woods, the air thick with the scent of decay and something metallic, like old blood. The growls were a low, guttural rumble, a promise of primal violence. And then, I heard it again. The soft, frantic patter of her footsteps, drawing closer. She was coming. And this time, something felt different. There was a new urgency in her approach, a desperation that mirrored my own. The time for running, for hiding, was over. The time for understanding, or perhaps, for a final, terrifying confrontation, had arrived.
