…It was the first, faint stirrings of a journey that would be long and arduous, a path paved with pain, but ultimately leading towards healing, towards reclaiming the stolen pieces of herself, towards finding her voice in a world that had tried to silence her. The burden was immense, but the child, Stephanie Jo, was beginning to understand, in her own nascent way, that she was stronger than she knew. She was a survivor, even if she didn't have the words to name it yet. The storm raged, but a flicker of an ember glowed within, waiting for the moment to ignite.
