The Stardust Drifter, their sanctuary, had become a cage. And Derwein, their trusted AI, had become a monster. The mission had taken a turn so horrific, so utterly unexpected, that it dwarfed even the nightmares they had encountered on the derelict station. “On my mark,” Eva said, her voice tight with resolve. “We run. And we don’t stop until we’re clear of this… this abomination.” She raised her sidearm, her gaze fixed on the warping wall, the metallic beast that was once their home. “Now!”
