…The hum of the gate softened, then vanished, leaving only the rustling of leaves and the chirping of unseen birds. They stood once more on the familiar ground, the Glimmering Gate now appearing as it always had – an ancient, moss-covered stone archway, its magic hidden, its secrets now their own. But as they looked at each other, a shared understanding passed between them. They were home, but they were not the same. The world beyond the Glimmering Gate had left an indelible mark, a starlight glimmer in their eyes that would forever remind them of the impossible journey they had shared.
