…"Yes," I said. "I'm ready." But as I walked away, I felt a whisper of something—a presence, a shadow, a lingering reminder that the South holds its secrets close. I had released Margaret, but I knew with a certainty that settled deep in my bones that this would not be the last ghost I encountered. The shadows beneath the Southern sun are patient, and they have a way of finding you, no matter how far you run. I smiled, and I let the darkness embrace me.
