…His words hung in the air, a stark admission of their terrifying reality. The whispers seemed to swirl around them, a chorus of unseen entities observing their every move. The growling intensified, a predator’s anticipation. And then, from the deeper shadows of the woods, a piercing scream ripped through the night. It was unmistakably Sam’s voice, distorted and filled with unimaginable terror. The scream cut off abruptly, leaving behind a chilling silence that was more terrifying than any noise. The boys froze, their blood running cold. The feeling of being watched intensified, pressing in on them from all sides. They were no longer alone in the woods. They were being hunted.
