They ran with the desperation of the hunted, their hearts pounding a frantic rhythm against the silence of the woods. They ran with the image of Sam, standing alone against the darkness, seared into their minds. They ran towards the faint, beckoning light, leaving behind the ancient oak, the shadowy entity, and the terrifying sacrifice of their friend. The silent sky watched, impassive, as they fled from the grasp of the entity, forever marked by what they had seen, and what they had lost.
