…I met her gaze, a strange sense of peace settling over me, a peace I hadn’t known since before the ambition, before the ghosts, before the Serpent’s call. The Obsidian Tide was gone, but a new, uncertain path lay before us. We had survived the temptation, but the journey had irrevocably changed us all. We were no longer just pirates seeking treasure. We were survivors, bound by a secret, by a shared defiance of a power that could have destroyed us, and perhaps, the world. The future was a fog-shrouded horizon, but for the first time in a long time, I felt a sliver of hope that we might just navigate it.
