…But as she turned the corner, a new vision flickered behind her eyes—a dark room, a girl with short dark hair crying out for help. The same girl from before. This time, Tjay saw a house number: 214. The dread returned, deeper than before. She had found Maya by chance. But this girl was waiting, and the vision had not faded. It was getting stronger. Tjay stopped walking. She pulled out her phone. Emma answered on the second ring. "I need your help," Tjay said, her voice trembling. "There's another one. And I think this time, I'm not going to have a choice." She looked back toward the parking lot, where Maya still stood, and knew that the cost of being real was only beginning.
