"One step at a time," she said. Emma nudged her shoulder. "One step at a time." The bell rang. Tjay gathered her things and walked to class, her head high. She didn't know what would come next—another vision, another test, another moment of doubt. But she knew one thing for certain: she was not going to hide anymore.
