But Tjay had learned something: she didn't have to be everyone's answer. She only had to be herself. A new thought crept in. If she could see the river, could she see other things? Things that might matter later? The hook of possibility tugged at her. She closed her eyes and let the dark carry her, ready for whatever vision might come next.
