…“So, we… we don’t give up?” I asked, my voice gaining a little more of its usual enthusiasm. “Giving up is what the blight wants,” Elder Raven said. “Now go. The ingredients await. And remember, even the smallest spark can ignite a great fire.” The golden leaf on my nose gave a final, warm pulse before fading into dust. But the warmth lingered. And as I looked at Russo, I saw that same determined glint return to his eyes. The grey fog of doubt was starting to lift, replaced by the faintest hint of honey-colored magic. We might be clumsy, and we might overthink things, but we were still Baby Blue Bears and Russo Baby Bears. And Willow Creek needed us.
