…As we carefully made our way back down, the sprites seemed to guide our descent, their playful nudges now more helpful, less chaotic. The wind felt calmer, as if even they understood the importance of our mission. Standing at the base of the Sparkle Peaks, the Sunstone clutched safely in Russo’s paws, I looked back up at the towering heights. My paws were sore, my fur was a mess, and I was pretty sure I’d sneezed out enough magic to power a small village. But the Sunstone was real. And for the first time in a long time, a sliver of true, warm sunshine seemed to break through the dull, gray sky above Willow Creek. It was a small glimmer, but it was enough. It was the spark we needed.
