…We stared, aghast, at the empty vial. The stone circle, the ingredients, the chanting – all for nothing. The blight seemed to press in on us, a little heavier than before. "Oh, no," Russo whispered, his eyes brimming. "I sneezed. I sneezed and the dew is gone. We ruined it. We ruined everything." Tears welled up in my own eyes. My tail drooped. "It’s… it’s all gone." The colors of Willow Creek seemed to fade a little more, right before my very eyes. The magic fizzled out of our den, leaving behind only the heavy, suffocating silence of failure.
