…As they stepped beyond the familiar confines of the village, the distant roar of battle seemed to recede, replaced by the rustling of dry leaves and the mournful cry of a distant hawk. The world outside was a tapestry of destruction, but within Elara, a fragile seed of purpose had begun to sprout, pushing through the hardened soil of despair, reaching for a sun she had only ever dreamed of. The ash still fell, but for the first time in a long time, Elara felt a faint stirring of something akin to anticipation. The battle for peace had just begun.
